4 thg 12, 2022 · You would do better asking in an Ubuntu support forum -- Dell supports only Windows 11 on this model system, not Linux. Historically, the fingerprint reader and other peripherals have not had support for Linux on models that don't have Dell support for it.
17 thg 5, 2022 · With this in mind, I was wondering if I could install 22.04 on my XPS 13 DE now, and then once Dell supports 22.04 (usually in a few months), I'll receive updated drivers, etc?
18 thg 7, 2022 · Seems to be disabled at the ACPI level, so not much to do here but hoping that Dell eventually enables that capability - Sometimes under battery usage, the trackpad pointer starts feeling a bit laggy.
10 thg 5, 2022 · The Precision 15 5570 is an analogous system to the xps 15 9520 (same base motherboard, slightly different processor and gpu, basically the same components otherwise) and it comes with an official Ubuntu option.
5 thg 5, 2022 · I'm starting to use Ubuntu 22.04 on my XPS 15, easy dual boot configuration with windows 11, pretty good support with Wayland the only problems i can experience are with XPS cam driver (very low quality view) and with trackpad (sometimes with strange behaviors).
25 thg 9, 2023 · I even contacted Dell but, as @JOcean mentioned, they do not support Ubuntu on this particular model and did not offer me any help. I hope this information is useful to you.
10 thg 7, 2023 · last year I bought this laptop and installed Ubuntu 22 on it, along with the nvidia drivers. When I did this, everything worked fine, but a few kernel versions later, I noticed that Ubuntu is not using the GPU at all.
22 thg 12, 2022 · I've had the 9520 with 22.04 for a few weeks now and I'm using it as my primary machine. It has locked up on me several times in the last few weeks, but will recover after maybe 20-30 seconds.
